Pheasant-tailed Jacana
Binomial Name: Hydrophasianus chirurgus
The Pheasant-tailed Jacana is a common resident bird of Bangladesh. They roam inextensive marshes, marshlands, lakes, ponds, floating plants, and wetlands. They eat seeds
and shoots from aquatic plants and insects by walking on floating leaves or swimming inshallow water. Their breeding season is from June to September. Females seek mates
during the breeding season. About a week after the start of marital life, the female birdbuilds a nest on a floating shrub, lays her eggs, and escapes. He left the area and started
a new marital life with another Pheasant-tailed Jacana. During breeding, each female bird
changes mates 6–8 times and lays eggs.
