The Pied Avocet is a common migratory bird in Bangladesh bird list. This shorebird with ablack and white colouration and an upturned beak does not roam everywhere in
Bangladesh. The coastal areas of Barisal, Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, and Rajshahi divisionswander along lagoons, muddy river beds, lakes, and river banks. They usually live in small,
isolated flocks. It eats food by walking or swimming in shallow water by moving its lipsfrom side to side. Their primary food is aquatic insects, earthworms, etc.
