Small Pratincole
Binomial Name: Glareola lacteal
The Small Pratincole is a common resident bird of Bangladesh. Almost all divisions arefound on the banks of the river. Large flocks roam rivers, lakes, flooded paddies, coasts,
or salt marshes. They feed on flying prey by standing, running or slightly flying. The mainfood sources are flying insects, dung beetles, and winged insects. They are most active
after sunrise or dusk. Their breeding season is from February to June. They lay eggs in theriver's sand or the open field near the water.
