Great Crested Grebe
Binomial Name: Podiceps cristatus
The Great Crested Grebe is an uncommon migratory waterbird of Bangladesh.Migrating in winter, the extensive marsh, swampland, river, lake, estuary, and coastal
waters of Bangladesh usually roam in pairs or small groups. They search for food byswimming or diving in the water. Fish and frogs are their food. August to September
is their breeding season. At this time, they make nests in the floating aquatic bushesof the main habitat by making huge mounds of grass and reeds to lay eggs.
