Common Cuckoo, Eurasian Cuckoo
Binomial Name: Cuculus canorus
The Common Cuckoo is a rare migratory bird of Bangladesh. Comes to Bangladesh onlyin the summer. However, there are instances of seeing it sometimes in autumn or spring.
It is found in Dhaka, Khulna, Chittagong, and Sylhet tree-rich areas. It eats prey in thecanopy of forests or bushes. The food contains a variety of insects, especially hairy
caterpillars. The breeding season runs from March to September. They don't do any of thenesting, hatching, and rearing. Birds smaller than themselves lay eggs in the nest.
