³EXCLUSIVE: Pete & Jakes Fast-Tracks Forged Spindles
FOLLOWING a meeting between NZHRM and Jason Slover, proprietor of Pete
& Jakes Hot Rod Parts were delighted to advise Pete & Jakes has fast-tracked a
response to the safety alert issued by LVVTA on Super Bell cast-iron spindles.(ref
June 2019 NZHRM) Jason & his team have developed a solution, and they now
forged spindles to suit early Ford front axles ready for sale and shipment. These
are made in the USA and in a gesture of kindness and goodwill are offered for sale
to Kiwi hot rodders in the New Zealand market ahead of the rest of the world on
a first-come-first-served basis. These forged spindles were originally designed for
a specific brake kit, but have been machined to stock Ford specifications keeping
the cost the same. Jason advises they will be restarting full production of forged
spindles once the forging tooling has been refurbished and approved, which is
great news. The tooling is from the original Super Bell Axle Co which were last
produced in the late 1970s. This forged spindle project has been in the works for
1 -1/2 years topartner with the forged steel axle recently released. Bothproducts
being resurrected from tooling that the industry thought was lost and are once
again proudly made in the USA. The Pete & Jake’s family of hot rod specialists
and enthusiasts have built an outstanding reputation for quality and service
after what began nearly 45 years ago... employing American professionals to
hand-create the very best hot rod parts on the market. All of it made the USA.
