Position elements
With the road under the bike,
use two fingers to rotate the bike to
match its more dramatic angle. Now
tap the bike and choose Animate from
the menu that appears. Tap Add Action,
then Create Path. A red box appears.

Pick a template
Open Keynote, tap Create
Presentation, and pick the Showroom
template. You’ll get a plain slide with
some text, but the template includes
several slide formats: tap the plus icon
at the bottom left and pick the fourth.

Edit trigger settings
Change the Start setting for this
action from On Tap to After Transition,
with no delay. Tap the chevron at the
bottom left, then press Play at the top
right to check your animation so far.
Tap again to continue.

Draw a motion path
Tap the second icon at the
bottom, for straight lines, then drag the
bike to the bottom of the slope, taking
your finger off immediately to make a
clean path. If necessary, tap Clear and
retry. The angle needn’t be exact yet.

Rearrange objects
Drag the text boxes to the top
right and enter some suitable text. You
can style it by tapping the brush icon
near the top right. Drag the motorbike
to the top left and, using the corner
handles, reduce its size.

Add transitions
Tap Add Build In, then pick
Pop: the bike expands into existence.
Tap the cross at the left to close, then
tap Add Build Out and pick Scale Big.
The bike fades out with a dramatic
zoom to round off the slide.

Test your animation
Press Play. The slide shows only
the text, and waits for you to tap. The
bike then pops into view and sets off,
appearing to drive towards us. When it
stops, there’s a pause to talk; then tap
to fade the bike out.

Add scaling
Tap Done, then resize the copy
of the bike for dramatic perspective
and adjust its position to hit the right
edge of the slide. Notice that you’ve
created two actions, Motion Path and
Scale. Tap the first, Motion Path.

Add a shape
The bike needs a road. Tap the
plus icon at the top right, then the third
tab, Shapes. Pick the wedge shape and
resize it to fill the bottom left area of
the slide. Tap the brush, then Arrange,
and drag the slider to the left.
