#34 - Find Inner Peace

It is no secret that Sikkim is
home to some of the most beautiful
monasteries in the region and so
you cannot leave without visiting
one. If you are going to be staying
in Gangtok, then hire a cab to
take you to Enchey Monastery
and Rumtek Monastery. Striking
architecture, fascinating murals
and the sound of enchantments
will help you forget your worries.

#35 - Get a Bird’s Eye View

If you love taking pictures, and
you want to take a memorable one
to remind you of your trip then
get on the Gangtok Ropeway. It is
one of the best ways to see the city
and also a cost-effective way to get
aerial shots without a drone.

#36 - Enjoy Maggi at 12,313 ft

Other than Tsongmo Lake,
where else will you get the chance
to enjoy piping hot Maggi and tea
made with yak milk? A glacial
lake in East Sikkim, it is a popular

tourist spot for a reason. The hues
reflected in the water will leave
you stunned.

#37 - Try River Rafting

If you love the great outdoors
and are looking for adrenaline
pumping activities, then you
should definitely put river rafting
on the list. Many tour operators
and travel agencies offer packages
for white water rafting on Teesta
River. The rapids go from easy
to intense, so it is perfect for new
rafters as well as experts.

#38 - Eat Local

Sikkim is one of the best places
to indulge in Tibetan and Nepali
cuisine. And, the best part is that
you don’t need to go to expensive
upscale restaurants to sample
them. There are many small shops
that sell some of the best food in
the State. Simply ask locals and
they will point you towards the
best eats.

#39 - Try Local Brews

You are on holiday, and so it
is obvious that you would want
to indulge in a drink or two after
sun-down. You can try Chaang,
a milky and fermented millet
beer that is available at most
homestays. Local brands that are
easily available at liquor stores are
Hit and Dansberg, the latter is a
great light beer to help you relax
after a day of sightseeing.

Mizoram
#40 - Stroll Through the Lanes
of Aizawl

Mizoram is probably the most
underrated tourist destination
in the Northeast and that is
such a shame because the State
has so much to offer in terms of
sightseeing. In fact, walking the
lanes of Aizawl will leave you
mesmerized. Lovely timber houses
and a burst of flowers everywhere
make for striking pictures.
