T
his is the third instalment in the John Wick
series that is very popular among action film
fanatics. This film starts where John Wick
Chapter 2 left off. John (Keanu) has killed a member
of the international assassins guild called the High
Table and now he has a $14 million bounty on his
head. Like expected, we can see adrenaline-pumping
action sequences in the first couple of minutes where
John fights a hoard of assassins out to get him. The
highlight of this instalment, and in fact, any of the
John Wick films, is the eye-catching action scenes. The
execution and technique used is quite commendable.
The viewers also get a small peek into John’s back
story, but you can’t help wishing there was a little
more meat to the story. Even then, it is still a satisfying
watch.
The film is based on the life of
mathematician Anand Kumar
and his educational program
Super 30.
A
Japanese animated teen drama film, it is based
on the manga of the same name written and
illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. The film deals
with the serious issue of bullying. Shōya Ishida would
torment Shōko Nishimiya, who cannot hear well, when
they were in elementary school. Eventually he gets
caught, and his classmates turn on him. He is alienated
and bullied. In high school, he tries to kill himself out of
grief, but a meeting with Nishimiya makes him want to
become her friend and correct old mistakes. It shows how
small misguided actions can have major consequences,
and that it is not always easy to make things right.
