AND STATE COUNSELLING?”
seats. Students from all over India are
eligible to apply for 50% of the COME-
DK seats.
In colleges belonging to the Associa-
tion of Minority Professional Colleges
in Karnataka (AMPCK) and Karna-
taka Religious and Linguistic Minor-
ity Professional Colleges Association
(KRLMPCA), 55% of seats are reserved
as private quota seats. Out of this, 66%
is earmarked for the religious-linguistic
minority candidates. And the remaining
seats are to be shared equally among
all-India quota and Karnataka quota
GMP candidates.
Q. Hi, I have the domicile certificate
of Chhattisgarh, but in my Aadhaar
card the permanent address is that
of Uttar Pradesh. What should I do
for NEET counselling?
Mohit Kumar, Greater Noida
A. For all-India NEET counselling, if
you are eligible based on your NEET
score, there is no requirement of domi-
cile as such. Address proof is required
only for the application purposes. All-
India quota doesn’t have residency
restrictions and so it doesn’t matter.
For state counselling:
Chhattisgarh – to participate in the
state counselling, you must have the
residency proof which generally is the
domicile certificate. This means the fol-
lowing:
OPerson is born in Chhattisgarh
OEither the person/parents are living
in Chhattisgarh for at least 15 years
OEither of the parent is a serving/
retired state/central government
employee in any of the districts in
Chhattisgarh
OEither the person/parents are hav-
ing immovable property, indus-
try, agriculture, any other kind of
business for the past 5 years in
Chhattisgarh
OPerson has studied in Chhattisgarh
for at least 3 years
OPerson has cleared one of the follow-
ing examinations in Chhattisgarh:
O Higher education
O VIII standard
O IV, V class exams
Since you have mentioned that you
have the domicile certificate of Chhat-
tisgarh, you should be able to partici-
pate in the state counselling for govern-
ment quota seats.
Uttar Pradesh – For the state counsel-
ling, you must have studied class 10 or
12 in Uttar Pradesh. If you have studied
these from outside the state, then you
must submit the domicile certificate.
Your Aadhaar card may not work here.
The notice clearly mentions this fact. If
you have studied class 10 or 12 in Uttar
Pradesh or have domicile status, only
then you can apply for the state counsel-
ling and admissions.
Q. In all-India quota NEET counsel-
ling, can we also apply to government
colleges in our state?
Diya Shah, Ahmedabad
A. You can apply to the colleges in your
state and other states as well. The spe-
ciality of all-India counselling is that
these 15% seats of all government col-
leges from across the country are open
to anyone and everyone eligible, irre-
spective of domicile, residency clauses
and such.
Q. Should I go for counselling of
NEET with 305 marks under Gen-
eral (UR) category with Haryana
domicile?
Rampal Singh, Gurugram
A. If you mean all-India counselling,
the chances of getting government col-
leges are practically nil. It’s not for gov-
ernment colleges of Haryana, this may
be a lower cut-off even if you have the
domicile. The domicile is just a clause
that ensures that students who belong
to the state are given preference. If you
are fine with the fees payable in a pri-
vate college then it’s better to go for
counselling.
Q. What is the procedure for admis-
sion in BAMS course as NEET coun-
selling is offering admission only for
MBBS and BDS?
Parvez, Hyderabad
A. Not really. Ayush counselling for
BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BSMS is
through NEET. The system is some-
what similar to NEET MBBS/BDS
counselling. Ayush counselling is done
centrally for 15% of the seats in the
government and private colleges and
100% of the seats in deemed and cen-
tral universities. Each state has its own
counselling for the 85% seats in the col-
leges falling under its purview. You can
apply for Ayush counselling at https://
aaccc.gov.in. The counselling starts on
June 25.
