If you made it through all

three hours of Avengers:

Endgame and you are still

mad for more Marvel, then

this first chapter in phase

4 of the franchise should

satisfy your comic book

craving. Unfortunately for

Peter Parker (Tom Holland),

he barely has time to process

the outcome of the latter

film’s events before he is

forced to swing into action

against a new evil – The

Elementals.

THE FAREWELL

DIRECTOR: Lulu Wang

CAST: Awkwafina, Tzi Ma

This bittersweet family

drama proves two things:

that Crazy Rich Asians

broke the glass ceiling for

Asian-led scripts, and that

Awkwafina is everything.

She plays Billi who travels

to China with her family to

visit her dying grandmother

(Shuzhen Zhao); although

her grandma is the only

person who has been

spared the sad news.

Despite the dark premise,

this film is a tender and

poignant portrait of

grief and love.
