attentions back to Geordie
Amber after she had
a date with newcomer
Greg O’Shea. Make your

But while viewers were
sceptical about Michael’s
quick change of heart, the
Scouser’s pal, personal
trainer Josh Mair, says he’s
had feelings for her all
along. “He went back to
her because he likes her,”
Josh explains. “Michael isn’t the
sort to play games.”
And Josh, who met Michael at
a fitness event last year, insists
the 27-year-old will follow his
heart, even if it does mean taking
some stick from viewers.
Here, Josh, 22, who briefly
appeared on the show last year,
opens up about Michael’s
personal life, what he likes in
a woman and why he won’t be

Hi Josh! So what’s Michael
really like?
He’s grounded. He knows what he
wants. He’s like my big brother.
He’s had a rough couple of
weeks in the villa. How do you
think he’s handled it?
He could’ve lost his head, but he’s
keeping his cool. If I was in his
shoes I would have flipped my lid.
Will he be upset when he hears
about the public backlash?
He’s so switched on and mature.I think he’ll be cool with it.
He knows it’s just irrelevant
comments.
Why do you think he changed
his mind about Amber?
When Joanna was there he
couldn’t think clearly. After she
left he’s realised that he does
like Amber.
Was going back to Amber
the easy option for
Michael?
I think he went back
to her because he
likes her.
Despite
everything that’s
happened, could
they still have
a future?
Definitely! Even if he’d
stayed with Joanna, he
would have gone back to
Amber eventually.
Is Amber his type?
Joanna is more his type looks-
wise, but Amber for personality.
Viewers have said he should
have left the villa with
Joanna...
He did the right thing by staying.
Joanna was bang out of order
with what she said to him [calling
him a f**king snake]. If it was the
other way round, it would have
been an outrage.Do you think he saw Joanna’s
true colours at that point?
Maybe that was a flash of what
she could be like on the outside.
What did you make of him
telling Amber to “sit down”?
That was blown out of proportion.
He’s quite assertive. At the start
Amber didn’t really care and
was a bit of an ice
queen. But then she
started crying on
every episode
and saying
how much
she likes him.
Does he ever
lose his
temper?
I’ve never seen
him be angry. But
it’s not a shock to see
him snap in the villa because
Amber would annoy me as
well. She knows how to push
his buttons.
How will he deal with female
attention after the show?
That always happens, especially
for Michael. But he’s got a mature
head on his shoulders and he
won’t let that get to him.
Is he a ladies’ man?
Every time I’ve been out
with Michael he’s been in
