WHYGOTHERENOW?
Majorca has always been a popular destination with Brits but interest has reached
fever pitch at the moment, with Love Island – filmed on the Balearic isle – reaching
its gripping conclusion. Watching their seemingly endless days of flirting, frolicking
by the pool and sipping cocktails, OK! felt it was time for us to pack our bags for
our own romantic getaway. The island’s capital Palma is a perfect place to eat,
drink and shop while the spectacular scenery of the Tramuntana mountains are
just a short drive away.

Valdemossa is one
of Majorca’s most
beautiful villages

architecture dominated by La Seu and

WHATARETHEMUST-DO
ACTIVITIES?
Wander the labyrinthine maze of streets in Palma’s
enchanting medieval Old Town overlooked by
La Seu, the magnificent 14th-century sandstone
waterfront cathedral. Sign up for one of the guided
summertime visits to the imposing cathedral’s
rooftops for panoramic city views.
Shop along the pedestrianised Calle de Sant
Miguel, where you’ll find Desigual, Pull & Bear
and artisanal food stores; the tree-lined Passeig
d’es Born for Zara and Massimo Dutti; and
Avinguda d’Alexandre Rossello for the likes of
Bershka and Mango.
Jumping into one of our hotel’s Smart Cabrio
cars, OK! took the scenic route through the
stunning Tramuntana mountains to Valdemossa on
the island’s west coast. Viewed as one of Majorca’s
most beautiful villages with its cobblestone streets
and flowering bougainvillea, it’s also where actor
Michael Douglas owns a cliffside mansion.
OK! stopped off at a café and ordered a traditional
Majorcan coca de patata, a fluffy white roll made from
potatoes. Trust us, it’s far nicer than it sounds!
