placedina tributaryinAprilhaveboosted
nutrientlevels.Thepioneeringprojectwas
trialledontheRiverMuickinAberdeenshire
withthelowerlegsofdeerculledfromthe
Balmoralestateplacedinclustersalong
thewaterwaywherenutrientlevelswere
low.Thelegs,usuallydiscarded,arepinned
inbundlestotheriverbed.Atfoursites
bundlesofsalmonfoodpelletswereadded
inquantitiesthatreplicatea salmoncarcass.

asputtingfishfoodpelletsin,”saidDr
