Filter your YouTube

YouTube has added a set of filters to make it easier to
watch videos from your favourite creators

ouTube’s iOS app has long allowed you to catch
up with whatever content is being pushed your
way by your favourite creators but it can still be
difficult to keep on top of your subscriptions, particularly if
you follow a large number of channels.
With the latest feature from YouTube, such a task is now
easier. The app is allowing you to brush aside old videos,
those you have already watched and community posts
thanks to a set of filters – or topics as YouTube calls them

  • towards the top of the Subscriptions screen.
As you tap these, they’ll alter the number and type of
videos you can see, showing you content in chronological
order with the latest displayed first. YouTube is hoping this
will lead to greater use of the Subscriptions feed.

Step-by-step Catch up with your favourite channels

1

View your subscriptions
The latest version of YouTube has
introduced topics within the Subscriptions feed
of the iOS app. Tap the ‘Subscriptions’ option
at the bottom of the screen.

2

See all content
By default, YouTube displays every video
from your subscribed channels, placing the
freshest content at the top. To watch a specific
channel’s videos, just tap its icon.

3

Watch today’s videos
The first new filter that has been added is
called Today. Tap this option and you will see
any videos that have been added by all of your
channels over the past 24 hours.

The new set of filters in the YouTube app means that you’ll
never miss out on the latest content from your channels
