Check your AirPod battery

charge on Apple Watch

W

henever you bring your AirPods case close
to your iPhone and flip open the lid, you will
instantly see how well charged both of them
are. A graphic will appear on the screen to display
the percentage of battery life left in both the AirPods
themselves as well as the case, and this will work
regardless of whether they are the standard set or the
newer, more powerful AirPods Pro.
But what if you don’t want to keep fumbling around for
your iPhone (or indeed your iPad) just to see how much
charge there is remaining on these little sound-pumping
devices? Well, there’s another way you can check the
battery status – direct on an Apple Watch.
Indeed, while the feature isn’t all that obvious and is
a tad hidden (Apple’s support pages fail to mention it
as a method), once you know it is there, it can prove
very useful. You can also check the status of your Apple
Watch’s battery while you’re at it too.

You can keep an eye on the battery level of your AirPods by
taking a look on your wrist

Step-by-step Monitor your AirPods’ battery life

1

Connect your AirPods
Ensure your AirPods are connected by
putting into pairing mode and in Settings>
Bluetooth choosing them (or holding near your
iPhone and tapping ‘Connect’).

2

Open Control Centre
View the Control Centre on your Apple
Watch. Do this by swiping up from the Watch
face or, within an app, by touching and holding
the bottom of the screen before swiping up.

3

Select the battery
Look for the battery icon. This will be the
one that shows you a percentage – a number
showing how well charged your Apple Watch
currently is. Now simply tap that button.

Did you know that you can use your Apple Watch to
check the charge status of your AirPods?
