Step 18: Make a copy of the Rub-
ble 2 layer, and use the Move tool
to place it just below the top lion
on the left. In the Layers panel,
drag this layer just above the Back-
ground layer, and rename it “Rub-
ble.” Use Free Transform to make
it smaller than the original rubble,
and then reposition and rotate as
needed. You can also edit the layer
mask if necessary.

Step 19: To create a more convinc-
ing effect, there should be some
rubble that’s the same texture as
the stone lions. Create a selection
from the rubble by holding down
the Command (PC: Ctrl) key and
clicking on the original Rubble
2 layer’s thumbnail in the Layers
panel. Then grab any selection tool,
and make sure the tool is on the
New Selection mode in the Options
Bar (it’s the first icon in the group
of square icons). Click-and-drag
inside a selected area to move the
entire selection (instead of replac-
ing it with a new selection) until a
portion of it significantly overlaps
the lion statue at the bottom. Make
that Lion Statue layer the active
layer, and press Command-C (PC:
Ctrl-C) to copy those pixels.
