Step Four: Grab the regular Brush
tool (circled) by pressing B on your
keyboard. In the realm of the layer
mask, painting with black conceals
and painting with white reveals. To
hide parts of the photo’s edges, we
need to paint with black. On your
keyboard, press D to set the color
chips at the bottom of the Toolbar
(also circled) to the default values
of black and white. Press X to flip-
flop the color chips so that black is
on top.Step Five: In the Brushes panel,
click the brush named Splish Splash.
Using the Options Bar, increase the
brush size (circled) so the brush is
fairly big (we used a Size of 1500
px on this high-resolution photo; try
600 px on the Adobe Stock preview
image). With the layer mask active,
click multiple times all the way
around the edge of the photo (you
can click-and-drag for very short dis-
tances, too). As you do, those parts
of the photo become hidden. Don’t
worry if you hide too much of the
edges; you’ll learn how to bring parts
