In a survey conducted by Parent in Science, a
movement that aims to raise the discussion about
motherhood and fatherhood within the universe of
Science in Brazil, 81% of scientists interviewed said
that motherhood had a negative or very negative
impact on their careers. In addition to the professional
cost of the lack of maternity support, many reported
the impact on their mental health. The survey was
answered by 1,182 Brazilian female professors, 77% of
whom were mothers and 54% of whom were the only
people responsible for the care of their children.In einer Umfrage von Parent in Science, einer
Bewegung, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die
Diskussion über Mutterschaft und Vaterschaft in der
Welt der Wissenschaft in Brasilien zu fördern, gaben 81
% der befragten Wissenschaftler an, dass Mutterschaft
einen negativen oder sehr negativen Einfluss auf
ihre Karriere hat. Zusätzlich zu den beruflichen
Kosten, die durch die fehlende Unterstützung bei
der Mutterschaft entstehen, berichteten viele über
die Auswirkungen auf ihre psychische Gesundheit.
Die Umfrage wurde von 1 182 brasilianischen
Wissenschaftlerinnen beantwortet, von denen 77%
