their body is a very personal topic and
one that should always be approached
with great sensitivity. It is often the
women who are perceived as not having
a care in the world that can often be
lacking the most confidence. There
are more women I photograph who
immediately announce they aren’t
photogenic and highlight all their
perceived flaws than there are women
who exude confidence. I think really
accepting and loving your body is so
hard – but when you meet a woman
who does she just glows with beauty
regardless of her appearance.
Many of the images in
the book are of women
who have suffered from
body dysmorphia, loss,
surgery, accidents and
illnesses – a refreshing
change compared to
what you typically see on
social media. Was it your
intention to feature stories
like that or did it happen
organically?
