TOYSOUT APRILHow Minions Lego hasn’t happened until now is a mystery not
even an evil genius could fathom. Still, amends have been made
with five sets based on The Rise Of Gru. There’s one with a
super-bike, one with a Chinese dragon, one with a fart blaster...
and they pretty much all come with tiny bananas. The piece(s) de
resistance is Brick-Built Minions And Their Lair, an 876-bricker
that lets you build Stuart and Kevin... who can then be rebuilt as
Bob! There’s more: open up each character to reveal... not a ton
of undigested banana, but a detail-stuffed room playset! Gru-vy.ONWARD MERCH
VARIOUSOUTNOWUnicorns, manticores, dragons... for all the wondrous creatures on
offer, you can’t help feeling the thing the kids will be most into is a
Dad figure they can split in half. That and the role-play staff, which
comes with removable gem, ripe for the misplacing. Love the mug
based on the Lightfoot brothers’ van, though given the shape we do
have concerns about being able to drink from it without the wheels
coming off, so to speak.
