Superlative of adjectives

A Russian adjective may be turned into the superlative by putting the
word cа�мый ‘most’ in front of it. Са�мый declines like a hard adjective
and will agree with the adjective it precedes in number, gender and case:

Oн име�ет де�ло c са�мыми серьёзными слу�чaями

‘He deals with the most serious cases’.

Са�мые после�дние ме�тоды испо�льзyются здесь

‘The latest methods are used here’.

Са�мый can only be used with the long adjective.
Note the superlatives of the eight adjectives with one-word declin-
able comparatives.
