Under blue skies and watchful
eyes, the 2024 Galesburg Day parade
started at 11 a.m., as scheduled,
Saturday, June 15.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s
Dept. and the Galesburg Fire Dept.
were the first in line to lead nearly
60 entries, including vehicles such
as antique tractors, local stock cars,
music inspired entries and a 1935
Chevrolet Cabriolet Roadster.
The ‘35 Chevy just happened
to carry integral pieces of the

The two teamed up for this year’s
event and to do it for community
engagement.
“We love doing this. It just brings
the community together,” Green
stated. Carlton added, “It is such a
beautiful day today and we had so
much fun. It was a great
turn-out.”
A stand-out crowd pleaser hap-
pened to be the mounties of the
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s
Department Mounted Division.
