NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION
To: The residents and property owners of the Charter Township of Emmett, Calhoun County,
Michigan and any other interested persons.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Charter Township of Emmett Board adopted Ordinance No.
3 of 2024 at a regular board meeting held on June 13, 2024. A summary of the Ordinance is as follows:
ORDINANCE NO. 3 of 2024
ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO ALLOW INDOOR SHOOTING RANGES IN THE
GC – GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ZONING CLASSIFICATION

SECTION 1. Table amended. Amends the table contained in section 10.10A of Appendix A
to the Emmett Charter Township Code of Ordinances, being the Township Zoning Ordinance by adding an
indoor shooting range as a conditional use in the General Commercial District.
SECTION 2. Definition Added. Amends Section 21.02 of Appendix A to the Emmett Charter
Township Code of Ordinances, being the Township Zoning Ordinance, to add a new definition for “Indoor
shooting range”.
SECTION 3. Conditional Use. Amends Section 15.03 of Appendix A to the Emmett Charter
Township Code of Ordinances, being the Township Zoning Ordinance to add sub-section “r. Indoor shoot-
ing range” to the list of conditional uses in the General Commercial District.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any section of this Ordinance is declared to be unconstitutional,
illegal or of no force and effect by a court of competent jurisdiction, that invalid section shall not affect the
validity of any other section of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5. Repeal. All other ordinances, resolutions, orders or parts of ordinances that are
in conflict with this Ordinance are repealed to the extent necessary to give this Ordinance full force and
effect.
SECTION 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect eight (8) days after publication
after adoption.

of the Clerk of the Charter Township of Emmett at the address set forth below and that a copy of the Or-
dinance may be inspected, reviewed or purchased by contacting the undersigned during regular business

LAKEVIEW
In Division 1, the Spartans of the
SMAC league closed the campaign
with an overall record of 18-12-1.
In a district tourney hosted by LHS
on June 1, the Spartans opened with
a 15-0, three-inning triumph over
Jackson in the semifinals, and then
defeated Holt 7-1 in the champion-
ship contest.
Then, in a regional semifinal on
June 6 at Grand Ledge High, the
Spartans lost 9-6 to No. 18-ranked
Okemos.
Lakeview’s lineups during post-
season action featured twin senior
brothers Zach and Jake Kucharczyk
(both recently signed to play for
Kellogg CC starting this fall),
Keegan Hutchinson, Memphis Wirtz,
Spencer Shotwell, Travis Neal,
Maddox Bishop, Ian Russell and
Aeson Hawks.
Note: The Kucharczyk brothers
were scheduled to play in the annual
East-West All-Star Game at Detroit’s
Comerica Park this past Tuesday
(June 18).
