Singer/songwriter/musician
Hannah Fae has released her debut
single “The Way You Look at Me”
on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon
Music and a variety of other stream-
ing platforms.
The song was released Friday, June
21.
“This song is a sultry summery
indie pop/rock song about locking
eyes with ‘the one’ for the first time,”
said Fae.
The song was recorded, mixed and
mastered at La Luna Recording and
Sound in Kalamazoo by Maggie
Heeren and Ian Gorman with Adam
Dannis on bass guitar and drums.
“This song was written by me while
I was sitting on my couch playing
around on my guitar,” said Fae who
graduated Pennfield High School as
Hannah Faith Stevens in 2016. “The
vocals that you hear and acoustic gui-
tar are me as well.”
Fae writes all of her own tunes and
has played guitar for more than a

decade, she said.
She got her start in musical theatre
and has worked at professional play-
houses such as The Barn Theatre in
Augusta, across the Midwest, she
said.
“I wanted to make the jump to
recording my songs,” said Fae.
During her university studies, she
began taking her songwriting more
seriously, she said.
“That classic/live instrument feel is
what has really inspired” me in the
writing/recording process, she said.
Some of her biggest inspirations,
she said, are Stevie Nicks, Taylor
Swift, Suki Waterhouse and Samia.
She has plans to release more
singles such as “Underneath the
Terracotta Moon,” she said.
When not songwriting, Fae has
been performing around south-
west Michigan and will appear on
the fountain stage at 1:30 p.m. at
Leilapalooza musical festival at Leila
Arboretum in Battle Creek on Juy 27.
She currently teaches voice at the
Community Music School, she said.
