John Andrew
Craig, 86, of
Battle Creek,
Michigan, died
peacefully on
Wednesday,
July 24, 2024, at
Kairos Dwelling
in Kalamazoo.
John was
born March 18,
1938, at Leila Y.
Montgomery Post
Hospital to Andrew “Scotty” and Elizabeth
(Graham) Craig. He grew up in Battle
Creek and was a 1956 graduate of Battle
Creek Central High School and attended
Washtenaw Community College.
John Andrew Craig and Linda Kay Miller
were united in marriage on June 24, 1972,
in Battle Creek. Surviving are Linda, his
wife of 52 years, and numerous nieces
and nephews and their families.
John was preceded in death by his
parents; his stepmother, Elsie Craig; a
brother, Doug G. Craig; and two sisters,
Joyce G. Rush and Jeanne Draper.
John was a radio broadcaster for the
former WELL AM & FM in Battle Creek.
John honorably served his country in the
U.S. Air Force. He completed his pilot
training at Aerospace Technologies in
Melbourne, Florida. John was employed
as a 2nd officer with East Coast Flying for
eight years. He completed his Respiratory
Therapy Training at St. Joseph Mercy
Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He man-
aged the Dearborn Drive-In Theater and


Cinema J in Chicago, IL at the Ford City
Center. John then graduated from the
University of Alabama Birmingham in
HSAD, Health Services Administration. He
was employed as a respiratory therapist
at San Bernardino General Hospital. John
was employed as the Assistant Director
of Respiratory Care and the Emergency
Trauma Care Center at Leila Hospital.
John retired after 42 dedicated years of
service in the health care industry. He also
operated the State Theatre in Olivet for six
years.
John was a former Administrative
Director of the Calhoun County TB and
Emphysema Association and president of
the Michigan Heart Association. He loved
reading, planes and trains, and watching
old movies until the credits were finished.
He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. John
will be remembered for his sense of
humor and telling stories.
Friends will be received 5-8 p.m.

87, of Marshall,

Florence was
born February
20, 1937, to
Richard and
Anna (Reed)
Gale in Battle
Creek.
She was a dedicated Certified Nursing
Assistant (CNA), who helped many
patients for 25 years. Florence’s journey
in the health care industry was marked
by her service at a nursing home that
underwent multiple name changes – from
Beverlies to Tender Care and finally to
Medi Lodge.
Beyond her professional life, Florence
found joy in dancing, knitting, crocheting
and ceramics. Her passion for creativity
shone through these hobbies, bring-
ing warmth and beauty to those around
her. She was a proud member of the
Women of the Moose Lodge based out of
Marshall, Michigan, for about 30 years.

as she peace-
fully departed this
world on July 29,

    faith in God and
    to her family.
    Born on July
    24, 1942, Gloria was born and raised in
    Battle Creek, Michigan. She was raised
    by her Grandma Georgia Vaughn, who
    raised her to the teachings of the Lord
    Jesus Christ. Gloria’s faith was strong, a
    loving mother, a devoted wife.
    Later, the years brought her to become
    a grandma, great-grandma and great-
    great grandma, where we were blessed to
    celebrate on June 6, 2019, a beautiful little
    baby boy, extending our family to five gen-
    erations. Gloria was a pillar of strength,
    our Queen. She loved unconditionally.
    On February 14, 1970, Gloria and
    Walter married. They were
    married for 54 years. Gloria
    enjoyed family time, cookouts,
    and holidays together. She
    loved spending time study-
    ing the word of God, reading
    her daily devotionals. Gloria
    loved to plant flowers in the
    summer and grow beautiful
    roses in her yard. She carried
    a compassionate heart, which
    brought comfort and joy to
    her family.
    Gloria, you are a treasure
    in our hearts. Your spirit will
    always be with us. We love


you so much. You will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Walter
Hall; children Daminga Edwards-Smith,
Melvin Woodson, Jr., Todd Woodson and
Bradley Woodson; 13 grandkids; 23 great-
grandkids; eight great-great-grandkids;
four sisters, Georgia Howard, Dianna
Eubanks, Val Perry Mabry and Tena Moss;
three brothers, Ricky Perry, Dennis Perry
and Kim Perry; and a host of nieces,
nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and
great-grandnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
grandma Georgia Vaughn; grandad
Dennis Vaughn; mother Ruby E. Perry;
father Leo Perry, Sr.; sisters Florine Davis
and Darlinda; brothers Doc and Leo Perry;
grandson Lonnie Edwards II; aunt Kelma;
uncle Mendale; and nephews Jamesy and
Maurice.
A visitation will be held at Bachman
Hebble Funeral Service on Sunday,
August 11, 2024, from 3-7 p.m.

She lived a life
of quiet dignity,

love and simplic-
i t y.
Born November 18, 1949 in Cleveland,
Ohio, Suzy was a person who found joy
in the everyday moments of life. She
cherished spending time with family and
watching a good program. Her greatest
pleasure came from having a cup of coffee
on her sun porch and a warm conversa-


tion with loved ones.
Suzy is survived by her son Louis
DeLorenzo; daughter-in-law Meredith
DeLorenzo; grandchildren Josh Males,
Alexis DeLorenzo, Gunner DeLorenzo,
Rachel DeLorenzo, Jonathan DeLorenzo,
Michael DeLorenzo and Andrew
DeLorenzo; sister Madelon Anderson;
and eight great-grandchildren. She leaves
behind a legacy of love, kindness and the
reminder that true contentment can be
found in life’s simple pleasures.
She was preceded in death by her par-
ents, Louis and Georganne DeLorenzo;
and her son Raymond DeLorenzo.
Though Suzy lived simply, her impact on
those around her was profound. She will
be dearly missed, and her memory will be
treasured in our hearts forever.
