The third annual Cruise the Creek
car and vehicle event in downtown
Battle Creek last Saturday late after-
noon/early evening – again put on
by the local AutoMODIFIED group

• featured about 1,000 cars and a
  few thousand spectators under sunny
  skies and temperatures in the low
  70s.
  Tucker Newsome and his
  AutoMODIFIED staff – along with
  other volunteers and members of
  the Battle Creek Police Department


• enjoyed a cool and calm summer
  night, Newsome said.
  Vehicles paraded up and down
  Michigan Avenue from 4-9 p.m., and
  cars were also parked for display in a
  two-block radius.

modified, took to the streets in downtown Battle Creek last Saturday for

the third annual Cruise the Creek event put on by the local AutoMODIFIED

was what thousands of attendees did last Saturday (Aug. 10) at the third

annual Cruise the Creek event put on by the local AutoMODIFIED group.

“It was a fantastic night, the

best year we’ve had so far hosting

the ‘Cruise’ the last three years,”

Newsome said. “The weather was

great, the turnout was great ... and

talking with police department

people, they also said it was the

best ‘Cruise’ we’ve had. Everybody

just had a good time. There were

no problems with the crowds or

anything...and while there’s usually

been some negative comments on the

internet after one of these, this year

there’s only been happy and good

comments from people. And that’s a

wonderful thing.”

numbers of vehicles or crowd size,

but estimated there were about 1,000
