FINANCIAL MARKETS AROUND THE WORLD

Checking prices across markets
Traders check currency values and prices,
looking for variations across the markets.
The global markets are closely connected
and sharp rises or heavy falls in Asia, or the
US, may affect prices in London and the
rest of Europe. See pp.58–59, 64–65

PROFITING
Large gains may
be made by
buying a share
at a low price,
then selling it as
it rises but
before it peaks.
See pp.68–69

ROGUE TRADER
A trader who
makes high-risk,
speculative,
unauthorized
trades, usually
financial.
