Margaret
Wickens
(Curry), 57, of
Roanoke, IN,
passed away
at home on
September 19,
2024, after a
courageous
battle with
cancer, surrounded by family and
friends.
Born January 28, 1967, in
Kalamazoo, MI, Jeanné lived a
life defined by love, generosity,
and a deep sense of commu-
nity. She was raised in Delton, MI
and was a graduate of the class
of ’85 at DKHS. She earned her
B.A. in Business Administration
from Western, then her M.S.
in Management from Purdue
University.
Jeanne loved traveling the world
with family and friends, and having
ice cream every chance available.
She loved spending time with fam-
ily and bringing joy to others with
her kindness and thoughtfulness.
Professionally, Jeanné was a
leader in health care administration,
serving as the senior vice presi-
dent and chief financial officer at
Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, IN,
from May 2016 until her passing.
Her career was marked by dedica-
tion, excellence, and a desire to
make a difference. Before Parkview,
she worked as a senior vice presi-
dent of finance, strategy and CFO
for Allegiance Health. She served
as a CPA with Ernst & Young, con-
troller and director of finance for
Battle Creek Health System.
Jeanné’s impact extended far
beyond her career. She was an
active board member for numerous
organizations, including Huntington
University, Turnstone, United Way
of Allen and Jackson Counties, and
the Northeast Indiana Regional
Partnership’s Economic Fund. Her
unwavering commitment to commu-
nity service earned her many acco-
lades, including the prestigious CFO
Top Honoree of the Year for 2023 by
the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Outside of her professional
achievements, Jeanné was known
for her warm spirit and generos-
ity. She loved Christmas and took
great joy in giving, from angel tree
families to sharing DeBrand choco-
lates with friends. She was happiest
making others smile. Jeanné also
loved spending time with her nieces
and nephews, teaching them how to
bake, and playing with her beloved
huskies.
Visitation is Monday, September
30, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Branch,
Emmanuel Community Church,
7227 Bittersweet Moors Drive, Fort
Wayne, IN. The service to follow, so
a celebration of life luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial dona-
tions in Jeanné’s memory may be
made to the Parkview Packnett
Family Cancer Institute or the
Cascades Humane Society.
