Lakeview welcomes new 5/6 Academy Principal Bess Hodges

Mrs. Bess Hodges joined the
Lakeview family in September
as the new Principal of the
Lakeview Middle School 5/6
Academy.
Mrs. Hodges brings a wealth
of experience in both school
and instructional leadership.
Serving the past 10 years in
different administrative roles
at the elementary, secondary,
and district levels; she has
also been involved in coaching soccer, basketball,
softball, and wrestling in communities from Michigan

to Indiana to Florida and back home to Michigan
again.
She shared, “Building strong relationships with our
staff, students, and families is very important to me
and I love to take an active role in the community.”
Her appointment followed a comprehensive
search that drew eighteen candidates from across
Michigan and beyond. After initial screenings and an
interview process involving parents, administrators,
LMS 5/6 building secretary, and teachers from the
5/6 Academy, Mrs. Hodges was the top candidate
following multiple interviews and input from LMS
parents, staff, teachers, administrators and Central
Office.
