The Lakeview High School boys and girls cross
country teams finished first in the Battle Creek
All-City Invitational on Oct. 8.
Harper Creek finished behind Lakeview on

Harper Creek’s Lowrie, Lakeview’s Frank atop all runners with 1st place finishes


the boys’ side, while the Beavers, followed by
Pennfield, took second and third, respectively, for
the girls.
Dominic Lowrie from Harper Creek finished
first overall for the boys with a time of 17:28.2.
Cooper Gardner (18:06.4) and Christian Ayres
(18:12.9) were the next best times for the Beavers.
Gardner finished third overall with Ayres came in
fifth place.
For Lakeview, Jonah Bills was the top runner
for the Spartans, finishing second overall with
a time of 18:00.01. Karson Lewis came in just
behind Bills with a time of 18:10.9 and a fourth
place finish. Alex Rogers crossed the finish line at
18:23.8, good for sixth place overall.
On the girls’ side, it was Lakeview that had the
top runner as Lilamae Frank came in first with a
time of 21:07.1. Evelyn Calow was next to cross
the finish line for the Spartans at 22:47.4, fol-
lowed by Amelia Kraemer with a time of 23:16.4.
All seven of Lakeview’s runners finished in the
top 12 on the day.
For Harper Creek, Julia Faber posted the best
time for the Beavers with a time of 21:27.8 and
came in second place overall. Rylee Zumer was
next for Harper, finishing third overall and post-
ing a 22:38.3 time. Layla Silkworth finished fifth
overall and crossed the finish line at 22:56.1.
St. Phillip and
Battle Creek
Central did not
have enough run-
ners to score as
a team, but did
have individuals
participate in the
event.
Charles Sims
from BCC fin-
ished 19th over-
all in the boys’

division with a time of
21:31.1, while James
Muir of St. Phillip was
24th overall for the
boys, crossing the line
at 22:55.4.
Elsa Strenge and
Kaylynn Fields repre-
sented St. Philip in the
girls’ division, posting
times of 28:28.4 and
39:24.0, respectively.
