In the 9th month (Sep./Oct.) of 952, Tibetan chiefs were by the
Later Chou court appointed Imperial Household Grandee of the Silver
Seal and Blue Ribbon, Acting Master of Writing of the Ministry of
Works, and Generals-in-chief (Wu-tai hui-yao 30:3a-3b).
In the 8th month (Sep./Oct.) of 953, Tibetan envoys to the Liao
court offered gifts (Liao shih 6:2b; 70:6a).
In 961, the Ling-wu Tibetans in the Ning-hsia Oasis offered camels
and fine horses to the Sung court. Sung presented Tibetan chiefs at
the upper Wei River with brocade robes and silver belts (Sung shih
492:2a-2b;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 335:32a).
In 967, a Tibetan delegation of six men offered horses to the Sung
court (Sung shih 492:3a).
In 973, Tibetans offered gifts to the Sung court (Sung shih 492:3a).
In 977, various Tibetan tribes at the upper Wei River looted the
Chinese (Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 335:32a).
On Oct.26, 983, Tibetan tribes offered horses to the Sung court.
Emperor T’ai-tsung summoned their chiefs and presented them with
silk. He remarked that the language of the Tibetans was unintelligable
and their clothes strange (Sung shih 492:3b; Hsü Tzu-chih t’ung-chien
ch’ang-pien p.211; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 335:32a).
In 984, local authorities reported to the Sung court that Tibetans
at the upper Wei River had presented horses and sheep. The emperor
ordered that they be paid with tea and silk (Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 335:
32a).
On Mar.31, 989, Tibetans offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao shih
12:5a).^31
In 994, the Tibetans of the Six Valleys in eastern Kan-su presented
1000 horses to the Sung court (Sung shih 492:4b).
In 995, the Tibetans of Liang offered fine horses to the Sung court.
T’ai-tsung rewarded them (Sung shih 492:4b; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 335:
32a).
In the 7th month (July/Aug.) of 996, the Tibetans of the Six Valleys
presented fine horses to the Sung court (Sung shih 492:5a).
In the 11th month (Nov./Dec.) of 998, Tibetans offered regional
objects and more than 2000 horses to the Sung court (Sung shih 492:
5a;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 335:32a).


(^31) Liao shih 70:8b dates this the 3rd month, but that month did not have the
cyclical, characters kuei-yu.
