The competition of Badminton
was played in both men’s and
women’s singles and doubles,
as well as in teams and mixed
doubles, all of them showing
their full willing power and
determination to earn a place on
the podium.
The Badminton finals at the
Fonix Arena brought thrilling
competition across singles and
doubles events, captivating the
audience with intense rallies
and skilled play. In the men’s
doubles final, the University of
Miguel Hernandez (ESP) went
head-to-head with the University
of Strasbourg (FRA), where the
French duo, Thomas Baures
and Aymeric Torres, showcased
exceptional racket skills to secure
a commanding 2-0 victory and
the gold.
The women’s doubles final saw
the University of Strasbourg
(FRA) face off against Gdansk
University of Technology (POL).
In a gripping match, the Polish
pair, Ulyana Volskaya and
Anastasya Khomich, triumphed,
earning the gold medal for EUG
- In the mixed doubles final,
Gdansk University of Technology
(POL) continued its winning
streak, defeating the University of
Tartu (EST) and claiming the title
as the best mixed doubles team
of the tournament.
In the men’s singles event,
France dominated, with Valentin
Singer from the University
of Bordeaux (FRA) taking
gold, while the University of
Strasbourg (FRA) clinched the
silver. In the women’s singles,
Agnes Korosi from the Hungarian
University of Sports Science
(HUN) seized the gold, with
Lithuanian athlete Samantha
Golubickaite from Vytautas
The Badminton competition
welcomed a total of 139 participants,
representing 20 universities from
14 countries in Debrecen.
