Step 11: Change the layer’s blend
mode from Normal to Lighten and
reduce its Opacity to 32%. Select the
Brush tool (B) and use the settings in
the Options Bar that we used before.
Step 12: On the layer mask, paint
away the excess blue around the
lights. Then, double-click the Solid
Color adjustment layer’s thumbnail
and change it from blue to white
(#ffffff). Change the layer’s blend
mode from Lighten to Soft Light and
its Opacity from 32% to 100%.
Step 13: Repeat steps Nine through
12 for the dome lights in the copy of
the image on the left. Group both
layers together and name the folder
“White Dome Lights.” Lower the
folder’s Opacity to 75%.
Step 14: Duplicate the folder named
“White Dome Lights” and rename it
“Ruby Dome Lights.” Click the disclo-
sure arrow next to the group folder
and open it to reveal the layers. Dou-
ble-click each Solid Color adjustment
layer’s thumbnail and change it from
white to ruby (#9B111E). Change
each layer’s blend mode from Soft
Light to Color and their Opacity from
100% to 25%. Change the folder’s
blend mode to Linear Dodge (Add)
and set its Opacity to 50%.
