The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong is seeking a talented global leader to assume
the role of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The SFC is the independent statutory authority overseeing
the securities and futures markets in Hong Kong, one of the world’s leading financial centres. Its primary
functions include enforcement against market misconduct and fraud and the supervision of financial
intermediaries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to a Board chaired by a non-executive Chairman, the CEO has the overall executive responsibility
for leading the SFC. This includes regulating the fifth largest stock exchange in the world, regulating
the largest wealth management industry in Asia ex-Japan, fostering close cooperation with Mainland
and international regulators, and enhancing Hong Kong’s further development as a global capital
market. The candidate will represent the SFC in its interactions with local, Mainland and international
partners including other regulatory bodies, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), and the
International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate should have a vision for and be dedicated to the future of Hong Kong as a premier
international financial centre with world class regulatory standards. The candidate should be a strategic
leader with insight and resilience, able to manage multiple public and private sector stakeholders,
and should demonstrate the high levels of technical competence and personal credibility necessary
to formulate and implement effective regulatory decisions and initiatives in a dynamic market. He or
she should have significant leadership experience at a regulatory authority, an exchange, a financial
intermediary, an accounting or law firm and/or a public organization.
