pleasure-seekers – sheer, light

and luminous. ‘My brief was

to capture Ibiza’s bohemian

side, to translate the heat of the

sun and the memories of past

summers into notes,’ says Núria

Cruelles, the nose behind

Loewe’s White Isle-inspired eau

de toilette. ‘For a new freshness,

I avoided the most-used notes

in summer perfumery, such as

citrus, instead using coconut

water and green galbanum resin.’

Her Paula’s Ibiza (in what might

be the bottle of the year) has sand

lily, frangipani and patchouli, too;

it’s warm and breezy, like a walk

through cobbled Spanish streets.

Or try Sol de Janeiro’s beach

carnival in a bottle, with jasmine,

pistachio and caramel. ‘Fun,

warmth and laughter,’ says the

brand’s founding partner Camila

Pierotti, ‘it’s the scent of summer.’
