for background
◆ fabric scraps in a variety of
colours for the cacti (the
largest scraps needed are
6" squares)
◆ 1m pink fabric for the sashing
& cushion back
◆ 28"-square of calico
for backing
◆ 28"-square wadding
◆ 0.5m fusible webbing
◆ 18" zipper
◆ co-ordinating thread to match
shapes being appliquéd
◆ pale yellow thread for quilting
◆ 26"-square cushion pad
◆ appliqué templates included
with this issue

CUTTING
From white fabric, cut:
9 8½" squares

From pink fabric, cut:
12 1x8½" strips
4 1x26½" strips
2 13¾x26½" rectangles

From fabric scraps, cut:
Pots, leaves, plants & fl owers

Using the instructions in the appliqué
guide, prepare the shapes. Janet has
used the following templates to create
her blocks:

Row 1 Block 1: pot 12, circle 1, circle 3,
plant 6
Row 1 Block 2: pot 3, plant 4, bloom 9

Row 1 Block 3: pot 6, plant 5, leaf 3,
bloom 4 (x2)
Row 2 Block 4: pot 10, circle 3, bloom 3
