he days of enlisting a trusted travel agent to present you with the best

travel booking, but it hasn’t necessarily made it any easier. Now that
you can see all of the industry’s idiosyncracies with a few taps of your phone—

might long for the days when travel agents did all the legwork for you.

But if there’s one thing the tech industry relentlessly pursues, it’s solving
problems (even those it created). As a result, a staggering number of apps and
ZHEVLWHVSXUSRUWWRFXWWKURXJKWKHQRLVHDQG¿QG\RXWKHEHVWÀLJKWVDQG
accommodations at the best prices. It’s a tall order, but some of these services
do quite well. Here are our current favorites.

has its own air booking engine, Google Flights. It’s reasonably

astonishing speed. By crawling and caching airfares similarly to how it crawls
and caches websites, Google can display fares nearly instantly.

For simple roundtrip searches, you just plug in your origin and destination
cities. You can then click around on the calendar to adjust your departure and
