Adelaide Lace


The crossed stitches add both texture and lace to this pretty fabric.


Tunisian Double Crochet (Tdc): Yo, insert hk into vert bar of next
st, yo and pull lp through st, yo and pull through 2 lps, leaving last
lp on hk.


Ch an odd number of sts.


Row 1 (RS) Fwd: Pull up lp in 2nd ch from hk and ea ch across.
Rtn: Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo, pull through 2 lps on hk; rep
from
to end.


Row 2 Fwd: Ch 1 (counts as 1st sc), sk 1 st, Tdc in next st, Tdc in
skipped st; rep from
across to last 2 sts, Tdc in next st, Tss in
next st, ch 1. Rtn: Work off lps as normal.


Row 3 Fwd: Ch 1 (counts as 1st sc), Tdc in next st, sk 1 st, Tdc in
next st, Tdc in skipped st; rep from
across to last st, Tss in next st,
ch 1. Rtn: Work off lps as normal.


Rep rows 2 and 3 to desired length.


Last row: Tss in next st and pull through lp on hk; rep from
across, fasten off. 1

TIP


As you will notice, to fasten off properly in
Tunisian, you start the row as normal but instead
of leaving the loop on the hook, you pull the
loop off. The fastening-off row can be a bit looser
than the rest; if so, drop a hook size for the last
row only.
