This flowery snowflake looks equally cute whether
blocked and stiffened or unblocked and curly; try it each
way to find your favorite look.


Single Crochet Spike Stitch (spike st): Insert hk in
next st 2 rnds below, yo, draw up a lp to height of
current rnd, yo, pull through both lps on hk.


Picot: Ch 3, sl st to prev sc.


Ch 10, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.


Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, 24 sc into ring, sl st to 1st sc, do not
turn.


Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, [sc, ch 7, sc] in next sc,
sc in next sc; rep from
around, sl st to 1st sc, do not
turn—30 sc.


Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc, [2 hdc, 13 dc, 2 hdc] in next
ch-7 sp, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc; rep from
around to last
ch-7 sp, sl st to 1st sc, do not turn, fasten off color—
6 petals.


Rnd 4: Join new color, ch 1, spike st in next sc on rnd
1, ch 3, sk 2 hdc and 2 dc, sc in next dc, picot, ch 3, sk
3 dc, sc in next dc, picot, ch 3, sk 3 dc, sc in next dc,
picot, ch 3, sk 2 dc and 2 hdc; rep from
around, sl st
to 1st spike st, fasten off.
