Balloon Stitch
Clusters pop from the fabric, making this stitch pattern great for
fun projects like hats and mittens.
Ch a multiple of 6 sts plus 1.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk and ea ch across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in 1st 2 dc, 5 dc-cl in next dc, sc in next 5 dc; rep
from across to last 3 sts, 5 dc-cl in next sc, sc in last dc, sc in top
of t-ch, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea st across, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in 1st 5 dc, 5 dc-cl in next dc, sc in next 5 dc; rep
from across, turn.
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea st across, turn.
Rep rows 2–5 to desired length.
