Single Rib
The start of every good cable comes down to just a simple
post stitch. This pattern highlights the beauty in the sim-
plicity.
Ch an even number of sts.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk and ea ch across, turn.
Popping Flower Stitch.
By adding a few chains, you can turn the circles in the Popping
Circle Stitch into flowers. This fabric is great for playmats for
babies or for statement scarves.
Flower: [(Dc, ch 3) 6 times] around post of next dc, turn work
180 degrees, [(dc, ch 3) 5 times, dc] around post of prev dc.
Ch a multiple of 12 sts.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk and ea ch across, turn.
Rows 2–4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea dc across, dc in top of
t-ch, turn.
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 4 dc, *flower around
post of next and prev dc, dc in top of same dc (behind
flower), dc in next 11 dc; rep from * across to last 5 dc,
flower around post of next and prev dc, dc in top of same dc
(behind circle), dc in next 3 dc, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Rows 6–8: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ea dc across, turn.
Row 9: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 4 dc, *dc in next 6
dc, flower around post of next and prev dc, dc in top of same
dc (behind flower), dc in next 5 dc; rep from * across to last
5 dc, dc in next 4 dc, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Rep rows 2–9 to desired length.
