3 rd EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES RUGBY 7’s CHAMPIONSHIP

The City of Bristol, United Kingdom was the host of the 3rd
European Universities Rugby 7’s Championship. 15 university
teams, amongst them also five women teams, fought from
June 10 to 12, 2009 for the titles of the European Universi-
ties Champions. The organisers of the championship were the
University of Bristol and the British Universities Sports As-
sociation. The men’s final was won very convincingly by the
Russian team, Kuban State University of Physical Education,
Sport and Tourism, beating the University of Coimbra from
Portugal. The University of Exeter beat the University of Lille
in a very close women’s final. The Home Team, University of
Bristol, finished a very credible third, beating University of
Limoges in the play-off.
