he celebration of the 10th EUSA Anniversary took place

at the General Assembly in Vienna, Austria on December

5, 2009. The Assembly was held at the University of Vienna

with a presence of the delegates of almost all EUSA member

federations and many invited guests from the international

university sports world. The delegates and guests were wel-

comed by Mr. Alberto Gualtieri, EUSA President and Mr. Wolf

Fruhauf, Unisport Austria President.

Welcome addresses and congratulations letters from the

presidents of the international and continental university

sport federations were read first. In his speech the President

of EUSA thanked the previous EUSA Executive Committee

Members and Technical Delegates for their contribution to

the development of EUSA during the last 10 years.

After a minute of silence in the memory of the late Mr. Enno

Harms, the Assembly was carried out reflecting the achieve-

ments and development of EUSA from 1999 to 2009, also

thinking about the future direction of the organisation, the

importance of cooperation with the EU, and the topic of

gender equality.

After the formal conclusion of the Assembly itself, a Gala

Dinner was organised in the Ballroom of the Parkhotel

Schönbrunn. At the Gala Dinner, reflections were given to

the 10 amazing years of EUSA, emphasising the importance

of the initiatives of individuals on one hand and all member

federations on the other hand.
