CHAMPIONSHIP

The participation increased tremendously already next year

when the second edition of the European University Basket-

ball Championship was organised in the City of Koper, Slove-

nia. 12 men and 10 women teams from 12 European coun-

tries were present in the event, organised by the Slovenian

University Sports Association together with a great support

of the State, the City of Koper and the new University of Pri-

morska. The championship was held on a high quality level.

The games were played in the sports centre Bonifika, with a

good atmosphere created during the competitions; especially

in the finals, where the men team of the University of Athens

defeated the hosts 75:72. In the women’s competition the

students from Novi Sad managed to reach for their second

title defeating the University of Ljubljana 71:61.
