4 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL

CHAMPIONSHIP

12 men and 7 women university teams from 11 European

countries participated in the 4th European University Basket-

ball Championship, which was organised by the French Uni-

versity Sports Association and the University of Haute Alsace

in Mulhouse, France. After three years, a new winner was an-

nounced in women’s competition. The University of Ljublja-

na defeated in the finals the team from Gorzow Wielkopolski

with a very tight score 68:66. Also the champion’s title in the

men’s competition went to Slovenia, after the University of

Ljubljana won against the Frederick Institute of Technology

from Nicosia 89:79.
