4 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2006 championship took place from July 2 to 9 in Ein-
dhoven, Netherlands and was as a part of a multisport event
combined with three other EUSA events: Tennis, Volleyball
and Water Polo Cup. The organiser of this major and biggest
event this year was the Eindhoven University of Technology.
The fourth European University Football Championship was
held at the football pitches of sport centre “De Hondsheuv-
els” with 14 male and 7 female teams competing. The Open-
ing Ceremony was held in the city plaza, featuring a big ball,
covered with flag tabs of all participating countries. After a
series of interesting matches, the Haliç University from Tur-
key became the male champions for the current year in the
men’s tournament, and ETH Zürich from Switzerland in the
women’s tournament.
