The best    way to  get a   handle  on  a   figureless  geometry    problem is  usually to  sketch  a   figure  of
your own. You don’t have to be an artist. Just be neat and clear enough to get the picture.

If you haven’t memorized the formula for the area of a regular hexagon, just remember that it is
comprised of six equilateral triangles. (Notice that the formula for the area of a regular hexagon is
just 6 times the formula for the area of an equilateral triangle.) So even if you don’t remember the
formula, it should still be fairly easy to calculate the side lengths of the hexagon if you remember
the side lengths of special right triangles.
