For Th e Dark Knight , designer Nathan Crowley explains that he “worked
on the entire fi lm, starting with the Batmobile, because we needed lots of
time to build the thing.” In explanations of his work for this movie, Crowley
describes how Batman’s cape, bat design motifs and logos, and a hyper-
realistic approach were key considerations in the creation of a distinctive
look for the project. On top of that, they wanted to build a Batmobile that
could actually be driven.
