(C) Standard deviation is measure of variability. The greater the standard deviation, the more
varied or diverse the group. We would expect a lot of variability in the IQ scores of students in a
large, public school system. Conversely, we would expect all the other groups to have less
variability as they are narrower groups who are unlikely to differ from one another as much in
terms of IQ.
